Seborrheic Dermatitis

Seborrhea is a common skin condition often worsened during winter. In the same family as cradle cap in infants, patients with seborrrheic dermatitis often have scaling scalps as well as redness and scaling behind the ears, in the brows, around the nose and often on the mid-chest. This common skin condition can be controlled with a combination of anti-yeast, cortisone and other topical medications. It is often exacerbated in patients with neurologic conditions such as Parkinsons disease.
