Rosacea

Rosacea is a common skin condition that often begins in patients who blush or flush easily. There are 4 different subtypes of rosacea:

  • Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea: Redness, flushing, visible blood vessels
  • Papulopustular rosacea: Redness, swelling, acne like outbreaks
  • Phymatous rosacea: Skin thickening and bumpy textured
  • Ocular rosacea: Eyes red, irritated and swollen

Medical treatment includes topical creams and oral antibiotics. Sunscreen and careful use of cosmetic products is critical. Aesthetic treatment is aimed at reducing redness and visible blood vessels. In our office we rely on IPL and Vbeam laser treatment for our rosacea patients.
